The Catholic-Theological Private University Linz ( KTU ) is one of four located in Linz universities. At their theological, art scientific and philosophical studies are operated.

History

Since 1672 the theology of today's Catholic Theological Private University Linz in the area of ​​research and teaching, bringing the KTU is the oldest academic education and research institution in Linz. In 1978, she was raised in agreement with the Ministry of Science to the theological faculty of pontifical right. Ten years later the old building a new building was connected. On 10 October 2000 the accreditation of the hitherto Catholic Theological College is the first private university in Austria took place.

Accreditation status

Under Austrian law, private universities must be re-accredited every five years. The Austrian Accreditation Council accreditation in 2010 extended by five years (until October 2015).
