Cathy Tyson

Cathy Tyson ( born June 12, 1965 in Liverpool) is a British actress.

The father of Tyson is an immigrant from Trinidad, her mother an Englishwoman. Her aunt is the actress Cicely Tyson. Cathy Tyson interrupted at the age of 17 years their education at a college to play at the Everyman Theatre in Liverpool. In the film Mona Lisa (1986 ) she starred alongside Bob Hoskins and Michael Caine one of the major roles. For her debut in a movie she was nominated for the Golden Globe Film Awards in the category Best Supporting Actress as well as for the BAFTA Award.

In the film The Serpent and the Rainbow (1988 ) by Wes Craven played alongside Bill Pullman Tyson one of the main roles in the movie The Old Man Who Read Love Stories (2001), she played one of the major roles opposite Richard Dreyfuss. She also appeared in a few television series, in the series of gold ( 1997), she took a starring role. Tyson is most frequently seen in various theater roles at the theaters Royal Shakespeare Company and English Shakespeare Company.

Tyson was married in 1984 to 1989 with the actor Craig Charles and has one child.
