Cecilia Cheung

Cecilia Cheung ( Cheung Pak Zhi actually, Chinese张柏芝, Pinyin Zhang Bozhi, born May 24, 1980 in Hong Kong) is a Chinese actress and singer.

Biography

Cheung was born in Hong Kong, the daughter of a Chinese father and a Eurasian mother. After the divorce of her parents, she spent considerable time in Australia with her aunt. Her first appearance was in 1998 in a commercial. 1999 Cheung got her first film role in Stephen Chow's The King of Comedy, where they mimed an unhappy love nightclub hostess. In the same year she won the Best Newcomer Award at the Hong Kong Film Awards for her role in Fly Me to Polaris. For Derek Yee's Lost in Time ( 2003), she then won the award for Best Actress at the Hong Kong Film Awards. Cheung speaks Cantonese, English and Mandarin ( with strong Cantonese accent). Since 2006, Cheung is married to the Hong Kong star Nicholas Tse. On 3 August 2007 their first child was born.
