Location of the Central Russian Plateau
The Russian middle plate (also: Russian agent ridge ) is a to 287 m high plateau in the European part of Russia.
The Russian middle plate is as far extended plateau, a large part of the great European Plain. It runs south-west of Moscow in which it merges seamlessly from the Smolensk heights in the north, just west along the Don in a slightly south-easterly direction to the Seversky Donets, or until just before the big Zimljansker reservoir.
The medium mountain -like landscape of the Central Russian plate is characterized by hilly and mountainous areas in which up to 150 m have dug deep river valleys.
Within the Russian plate spring means, among other things, these rivers: Don, Seversky Donets, Oka, Oskol, Psel and Sejm; at the northern interface to the above- mentioned Smolensk heights springs the Ugra. The largest cities are: Kaluga, Tula, Nowomoskowsk, Bryansk, Orel, Kursk and Belgorod.
