Centrotherm photovoltaics AG, headquartered in Baden-Württemberg Blaubeuren is a German plant manufacturer and service provider and supplier of solar technology and semiconductor industry.

The company develops, manufactures and sells production equipment and process technology for the manufacture of solar cells and semiconductors, and is also active for customers with various services.

History

The company was founded in 1976 from the " centrotherm Elektrische Anlagen GmbH Co. KG ". In the 1990s, the company went into the business segment photovoltaic and since 2000 the leading international providers. As part of the restructuring of the company in the photovoltaic field since 2004, first under the name " centrotherm Photovoltaics Solutions GmbH & Co. KG " was conducted in 2006 and transferred to the newly established " centrotherm photovoltaics AG ".

The slump in the capital goods market of the photovoltaic industry in 2012 and 2013 had a massive impact on sales and earnings situation of the company. A comprehensive restructuring program was launched in 2012. It provided for a refocusing on the core areas of crystalline solar cells and semiconductors, while reducing the number of employees.

On 11 July 2012, the Company announced that it had filed an application for bankruptcy protection. Already on July 12, 2012, the Ulm District Court granted the application for a protection proceedings ( Insolvency Code § 270b ). The bankruptcy proceedings were canceled end of May 2013 by the District Court Ulm.

On August 8, 2013 Centrotherm reported that 70 percent of the established in the insolvency proceedings debts into shares in a management company converted by the name of Sol Futura and 30 per cent of the creditors by 2015 have been deferred. The previous creditors were informed of the Sol Futura and a share of 80 percent co-owner of the company.

Share

The stock was listed on 12 October 2007 to the end of February 2013 in the Prime Standard of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange and has been listed from 27 December 2007 to 15 June 2012 at Nasdaq. In addition, they were taken over 30 index in the global photovoltaic and led to 21 September 2012 ÖkoDAX. On March 1st 2013, the share is listed Standard of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange in the General.
