Century Gothic

The Century Gothic is a sans serif font, which was designed by the Monotype Corporation in 1991. The Century Gothic is essentially based on the Twentieth Century of American typographers Sol Hess, who designed this 1937-1947 for the Lanston Monotype Company as a version of the successful Futura font, where she received a more uniform character width and larger x-height and x- width. The Century Gothic can be seen particularly in the creation of "a" and "g". Closely related to the Century Gothic with the Avant Garde Gothic by Herb Lubalin and the ITC Avant Garde, with which it combines its clear geometry.
