Certificate Signing Request

A Certificate Signing Request (CSR; German certificate enrollment request ) is a standardized format for requesting a digital certificate. The CSR contains the public key of a key pair, and must be checked for authenticity by the registration office ( Registration Authority ). When you create the CSR data is queried, which are included in the certificate:

The certificate can also be written in binary format ( DER) or printable format PEM.

The validated by the registry request ( CSR) will be forwarded to digitally sign the certification body.
