Cesare Burali-Forti

Cesare Burali - Forti ( born August 13, 1861 in Arezzo, † January 21, 1931 in Turin, Italy) was an Italian mathematician and logician in the group of Giuseppe Peano. He worked from 1895 to 1908 instrumental edited by Peano five volume work " Formulaire de Mathématiques " with, which was very important for the development of formal logic. The ideas for Peano's mathematical logic were described by him in general terms in the book " Logica mathematica ", which was released in 1894. He worked for most of his academic career at the Faculty of Mathematics of the University of Turin. He was best known for the 1897 discovery was the Burali - Forti paradox that arises in the formation of the set of all ordinals.
