Chaetodontoplus

Blue Stripe Angelfish ( Chaetodontoplus septentrionalis )

The Samtkaiserfische ( Chaetodontoplus ) are a genus of angelfish ( Pomacanthidae ). All species live in the coral reefs of the Western Pacific from Japan to Australia. Only Chaetodontoplus mesoleucus lives with a population in Sri Lanka in the Indian Ocean.

Features

Samtkaiserfische be 10 to 35 inches long. They resemble all angelfish most some butterflyfish genera and can be distinguished at the lower gill cover of this often am, all angelfish own sting.

Way of life

Samtkaiserfische live single, in pairs, rarely in small groups and feed as food specialists mostly of sponges and other sessile invertebrates and are therefore, although they are sometimes offered for three-to four-digit prices, totally unsuitable for the aquarium trade.
