Chamoson (English Czech anvil ) is a municipality in the district Conthey in the French speaking part of the canton of Valais in Switzerland. Chamoson is the second largest wine-growing village of Switzerland ( refer viticulture in Switzerland).

The district of Saint -Pierre- de -Clages is the only book village in Switzerland. In the village Suisse du Livre is 14 antique shops and bookstores have settled.

Geography

Chamoson is located on the north side of the Rhone river for viticulture excellent long southern slope about halfway between Sion and Saint- Maurice, both located at a distance of about 18 km. The municipality consists of the settlements Chamoson, Grugnay, Vérines, Mayens -de- Chamoson, Némiaz and Saint- Pierre- de -Clages. The neighboring municipalities Chamson are in the north Conthey, Ardon in the east, in the southeast Nendaz, in the south Riddes, in the west and the north- northwest Leytron Bex (VD ).
