Champion (Band)

Champion was an American hardcore band from Seattle (WA ), which was founded in the late 1990s.

Band History

After the first few shows, the band released their first demo as MC. This was followed by a short tour on the west coast of the United States.

Although the demo and the tour arrived well, the band was plagued a number of lineup changes. After many changes in the line-up was possible in 2000 and some published the second demo Come Out Swinging at phyte or Platinum Records Recordings in Germany.

Subsequently signed to Bridge 9 Records and recorded a EP with the name of Count Our Numbers, which was published with a re-release of Come Out Swinging. More tours with bands like Comeback Kid, Terror or Sick Of It All strengthened its skills as a live band. They have toured in the meantime the entire United States and even some parts of Europe.

Champion's album Promises Kept, was released on Bridge 9 and was well received in the scene. After a second European tour and a trip to Australia, in 2005 the U.S. was banging her head again. In the spring of the year they were the first indie act since Kill Your Idols and Ensign in 2001 who played in South Korea concerts.

The band was in 2006, then announced that it decided not to continue to lead the band, as they did not like the urge for new albums and they do not want to spread their music under this pressure and create. The last concert was held at the Club El Corazon in her hometown of Seattle on May 27, 2006.

After the dissolution of the band members were to be found in various other projects. So Aram Arslanian sang in Betrayed and currently plays guitar with The Vows, as well as Chris Williams. Todd Preboski also played the drums in Betrayed.
