Chandauli (Hindi: चंदौली Candaulī [ tʃʌn̪d̪ɔ ː li ː ] ) is a city in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. It is located in eastern Uttar Pradesh about 30 kilometers southeast of the city of Varanasi ( Benares ). At the time the 2001 census was 20,071 inhabitants Chandauli. The city is the administrative center of the district of Chandauli.

The city lies on the Grand Trunk Road highway, whose course today the National Highway 2 from Delhi to Kolkata follows. In addition, the railway line from Varanasi leads to Kolkata by Chandauli.
