Life

Ram scored the biggest international success of his athletic career at the Asian Games in 1970, where he won the gold medal in his weight class ( 100 kg ). At the 1972 Olympics in Munich, he was unable to repeat this result as 21, after he retired in the second round of the light heavy weight. He later became coach of Indian wrestlers.

He received the Arjuna Award in 1969 for rings in the Indian style ( Pehlwani ) and 1971 Padma Shri, India's high civilian honor.
