Charles Daniels (politician)

Charles Daniels ( born March 24, 1825 New York City; † December 20, 1897 in Buffalo, New York ) was an American politician. Between 1893 and 1897 he represented the State of New York in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Even in his youth came Charles Daniels to Toledo in Ohio. There he learned the trade of shoemaker, which his father exercised. In 1842, he moved to Buffalo. After studying law and his 1847 was admitted as a lawyer, he started working there in this profession. Between 1863 and 1891 he was a judge on the New York Supreme Court Politically, he was a member of the Republican Party.

In the congressional elections of 1892 Daniels was the 33rd electoral district of New York in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he succeeded the Democrats Thomas L. Bunting on March 4, 1893. After a re-election he was able to complete in Congress until March 3, 1897 two legislative sessions. Since 1895 he was Chairman of the Election Committee Committee on Elections No.. 1

In 1896, Charles Daniels gave up another Congress candidate. He died on December 20, 1897 in Buffalo, where he was also buried.
