Charles Flanagan

Charles Flanagan ( born 1 November 1956 in Mountmellick, County Laois ) is an Irish politician (Fine Gael ).

Flanagan grew up in Mountmellick. In 1987, he was elected in the constituency Laoighis - Offaly for Fine Gael in the 25th Dáil Éireann. So He took over from his father Oliver J. Flanagan, who had previously represented that constituency since 1943. As a result of three successful re- election was the Flanagan Dáil Éireann until 2002. During this time it was during the 28th Dáil from 1 November 1997 to June 25, 2000 Deputy Chairman of the British - Irish Inter-Parliamentary Body. In the elections to the 30th Dáil he was again elected and is therefore active since 2007 as a deputy.
