Charles Howell III

Charles Gordon Howell III ( born June 20, 1979 in Augusta, Georgia) is an American professional golfer.

After a successful amateur career in 2000 he was professional golfers in the year and came in his first tournament on the PGA TOUR in third place. In the 2001 season he was voted best newcomer of the tour and a year later he achieved his first tournament success at the Michelob Championship at Kingsmill. In that season, he finished ninth on the money list (PGA TOUR money list). In the years 2003 and 2007, he was appointed to the U.S. team for the Presidents Cup.
