Charles Joret
Charles Joret ( born October 14, 1839 in Formigny, † December 27, 1914 in Paris) was a philologist and literary historian.
Charles Joret, later professor of foreign literature at the Faculté des Lettres in Aix -en- Provence, began his studies at the Sorbonne, then continued in Heidelberg and Bonn by he dealt particularly with German literature and linguistics.
Joret was a member of the Societe Linguistique of Paris, whose memoirs he published a treatise on the same Norman dialect of the countryside and Bessin an etymological dictionary ( 1877-1879 ).
