Charvak Lake

Chorvoq, also Charvak or Charvak, ( Uzbek- cyrillic Чорвоқ; Russian Чарвак ) is a reservoir in the northeast of the province of Tashkent in Uzbekistan, which dams up the river Chirchiq in its upper reaches, shortly after it emerged from the confluence of the rivers Pskem and Chatkal. The water comes from the western reaches of Tianshangebirges and flows on to the Syr Darya.

The lake was dammed by a 168 m high and 768 m long rockfill dam and ³ has a capacity of 2 km. The Chorvoq Dam is the highest of Uzbekistan. The water is used as a water reservoir for irrigation and power generation. In addition, the dam serves as a recreation area, for example for water sports.
