Chassagne-Montrachet

Chassagne -Montrachet is a municipality with 334 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) in the region of Burgundy ( Bourgogne ) in the department of Côte- d'Or in France. It is one of the smaller wine-growing villages of the Côte de Beaune, almost as large as the neighboring village of Puligny -Montrachet. Chassagne -Montrachet is located at the Department of Road 113a, about 200 meters west of the National Road 74, the Route des Grands Crus, in the southern part of the Côte de Beaune and Santenay between Meursault, Distance to Beaune is 14 kilometers.

Like almost all towns of Burgundy has added the name of their top vineyard Montrachet to the place name in 1879, the community Chassagne.

Viticulture in Chassagne -Montrachet
