In the frenzy of colors and love (Original Title: 취화선, Chihwaseon ) is a South Korean film directed by Im Kwon- taek. The film was shown in South Korea on 10 May 2002 for the first time. On 10 February 2006, the film was shown for the first time on German television on ARTE.
Action
In flashbacks the life of painter Jang Seung- eop genius is told. From street child, he advanced to become the most sought-after artists of his country. He even manages to the court of the country's ruler. But his endless search for artistic satisfaction shall destroy him slowly.

Awards
Among other things, Im Kwon-taek received the award for Best Director at the International Film Festival of Cannes 2002 ( along with Paul Thomas Anderson for Punch-Drunk Love ) and the Blue Dragon Award for the best film. It was also nominated in the frenzy of colors and love for the Golden Palm in Cannes.
Jung Il-sung was for Best Cinematography ( CamerImage, Golden Frog Award, 2002) nominated.
In addition, noise was in the colors of love and nominated in 2003 for a César Award for Best Foreign Language Film.
