The Chiba Kōgyō Daigaku (Japanese千叶 工业 大学, Chiba Institute of Technology, German, English Chiba Institute of Technology, in short. Chibakōdai (千叶 工 大), Kodai (工 大), CIT or Chibatech ) is a private technical college in Japan. The main campus is located in Tsudanuma, Narashino -shi in Chiba Prefecture. This university is the oldest of the existing private engineering colleges in Japan.

History

It was (兴 亜 工业 大学, koa Kōgyō Daigaku, the name Koa means " developing Asia " ) on 15 May 1942 under the name University of Technology KOA in Machida founded. The main founder was Kuniyoshi Obara (小 原 国 芳, 1887-1977 ), who founded in 1929 the Tamagawa School (玉川 学园, Tamagawa Gakuen ) to make holistic education of children. The technical college was first a part of the Tamagawa school; But in 1944 she moved from the Tamagawa. In 1946 she moved to Chiba prefecture and named by Chiba Daigaku Kōgyō; it was then legally independent of the Tamagawa school.

Since 1950, the university is located in Tsudanuma campus, the former military base of Japanese railway troops. Your main gate ( built around 1910) survives to this day as the back gate of the campus.
