Course

The Tschikoi rises approximately 1800 m on the southeast edge of the Chi cocoon Mountains. This south-eastern foothills of the mountains Daurian bears in this area alpine character with altitudes above 2,500 meters; above the source of the Tschikoi the Tschikoiski Golez rises ( 2334 m). About 30 kilometers west of Kjachta the Tschikoi turns again to the north and finally joins up with Nowoselenginsk, about 25 kilometers southwest of Gussinoosjorsk at 535 m altitude in the Selenga River, the largest tributary of Lake Baikal.
