Chimboy (Cyrillic Uzbek - Чимбой; karakalpakisch Shımbay; Russian Чимбай Tschimbaj ) is a city and also the capital of an eponymous district in Karakalpakstan (Uzbekistan ). Chimboy located at 64 m height, about 55 km north of the capital Nukus karakalpakischen, in the Amu Darya delta and has 39 571 inhabitants (calculated for 2009), the 1991 census was 27,400 inhabitants.
