Chinese Academy of Social Sciences

The Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (Chinese中国社会科学院/中国社会科学院, Pinyin Zhōngguó Shehui Kēxuéyuàn; . Engl Chinese Academy of Social Sciences ( CASS Abbr ) ) is the national academy of the People's Republic of China for the social sciences. It has its headquarters in Beijing. It is an institution of the State Council of the People's Republic of China. It was founded in May 1977 and emerged from the Department of Philosophy and Social Sciences of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. The current president is Professor Chen Kuiyuan.
