Chiodos

Chiodos is a Alternative-Rock-/Post-Hardcore-Band from Flint ( Michigan).

History

The band was founded in 2001 under the name Chiodos Bros.. The band's name is inspired by two directors, Charles and Stephen Chiodo, of which produced several horror films in the 80s. In June 2002, the Demo The Best Way to Ruin Your Life was recorded. 2004 had to pause the tape, as Craig Owens had pneumonia. 2005 signed a contract with Chiodos label Equal Vision Records, which released their debut album All's Well That Ends Well and 2007 Bone Palace Ballet. The band is characterized among other things by the very high vocals of singer Craig Owens, who brought her a high recognition value. 2009 left Craig Owens and drummer Derrick Frost, the band and were replaced by Brandon Bolmer ( ex- singer of Yesterday's Rising ) and Tanner Wayne ( ex- drummer of Underminded and Scary Kids Scaring Kids) replaced. Owens published in the same year the solo EP With Love, during which time he was with his new band Destroy Rebuild Until God Shows in the studio. In March 2012, leaving Brandon Bolmer and Tanner Wayne for personal reasons the band. Then Craig Owens returned to Chiodos back end of 2013 was planned a tour in Germany as support from Escape The Fate, but this was canceled at short notice, so Chiodos played a few gigs as a headliner. A new album is in the works, which will be published in March 2014. As Craig Owens is a fan of vinyl itself, is the upcoming album will also be available on disc.

Style

The band's music can not be clearly assigned to a genre. Jazzy, harmonious melody lines and gentle, emotional vocals - such as with many indie rock emo band - take on piano or keyboard sounds and massive guitars and partial growl that you would rather settle both in metalcore. Furthermore, there are many pop-punk approaches.
