Chitrakoot Falls

The Chitrakot Waterfall is a waterfall near the town of Jagdalpur in Bastar district in the Indian state of Chhattisgarh.

It is the widest waterfall in India and is therefore also called " Indian Niagara ." Particularly in the monsoon from July to October is the horseshoe-shaped Chitrakot its imposing size. The river Indravati, a tributary of the Godavari, overcomes this waterfall a height difference of 29 m. The waterfall is located 38 km west of Jagdalpur and can only be reached by a road. Although there is a landing area for helicopters, but which is only used by the authorities. Near the waterfall there are some small hotels and restaurants.
