Choi Dong-hoon

Choi Dong -hun (born 1971 in Jeonju ) is a South Korean film director, screenwriter and actor. He is a specialist in sophisticated gangster films.

He was trained at the Korean Film Academy in 2000 and made first experiences as an assistant director in the film Tears of Im Sang -soo. In 2003 he played at the same director in A Good Lawyer 's Wife as an actor.

His directorial debut, The Big Swindle 2004 told in retrospect a bank robbery at the National Bank of Korea in which the gangsters have worked against each other and so a lot went wrong. The events are revealed like a jigsaw puzzle.

War of Flower / Tazz - High Rollers is a thriller of 2006, in which the gifted Hwatu card player Go- ni Jo Seung -Woo is cheated out of his savings and do everything it can to regain his money. First, however, he learned all the tricks of the game in a mysterious ex- champion player, a so-called " Tazza " Mr. Pyeong ( Baek Yoon -sik ). It all points to the final Hwatu tournament. The film had over six million viewers and was the second most successful according to The Host of the Year in South Korea.
