Chouvigny

Chouvigny is a French a municipality with 230 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Allierin the Auvergne region. It belongs to the district and Montlucon to Canton Ébreuil.

Geography

The municipality is situated on the Sioule, about 35 kilometers west of Vichy. The territory of Chouvigny is bounded on the south by the department of Puy -de- Dôme.

  • Château, mid 13th century 80 m on a rock overlooking the gorges of the Sioule ( Gorges de la Sioule ) built, bought mid-19th century by the Duke of Morny and restored
  • Saint Pierre Church, built in 1760, with statues of "Notre Dame de Chouvigny " and " Saint Roch " (18th Century)
