Commentry

Commentry is a commune in France. The main town ( chef -lieu ) of the canton of the same belongs administratively to the Auvergne region, the Allier, the district Montlucon and is passed from the river Œil.

The giant dragonfly Meganeura monyi was found in the 1880s in the stephani between coal seams of Commentry.

Geography and transport

In the north of the municipality lies Malicorne. To the east is Colombier, in the south of La Celle. In the southwest Durdat - Larequille borders Commentry and to the west and northwest Neris -les- Bains. The train station of Commentry is located on the railway line from Montlucon to Moulins. Through the community lead the former Route nationale 698 and a railway SNCF after Gannat.
