Chow Tai Fook Centre

The Chow Tai Fook Centre is a construction site of a skyscraper in Guangzhou, China.

Description

At the beginning of the project it was as the East Tower, a twin tower of the existing Guangzhou International Finance Center, planned. Meanwhile, this plan was rejected: So shall the East Tower, named Chow Tai Fook Centre, named after a Chinese jewelry chain, are indeed built and also be part of the complex, but in a completely different style. The one planned by Kohn Pedersen Fox building will have 116 floors and be 530 meters high. He would even surpass the Taipei 101 (508 meters) and would be only 11 meters lower than the One World Trade Center in New York City. Use is similar to the Guangzhou International Finance Center, be mixed with offices and a hotel. After its completion, which is scheduled for 2016, the Chow Tai Fook Centre West Tower will replace as the highest building of the city.

The building is not to be confused with the located in Tianjin in Tianjin Construction Chow Tai Fook Binhai Center, which will also be 530 meters high.

Construction

In early 2010, work began on preparing the building site. On 28 July 2010, the construction was started by the first crane was constructed and foundation work began. In December 2010, the work was stopped and the machinery removed. For what reasons, the construction was stopped, was not mentioned. In October 2011, the construction was resumed, however, two construction cranes were built. In January 2012, the core of the building reached the street level. In March 2013 was initiated with the establishment of the above-ground floors.

In 2016, the building will be completed according to the original plans.
