Christopher " Chris " Frank Capuano ( born August 19, 1978 in West Springfield, Massachusetts) is an American professional baseball player in Major League Baseball. Lefty Capuano plays on the position of the Starting Pitchers and is at the New York Mets since the beginning of 2011 under contract.

Career

Chris Capuano was selected as player number 238 in the eighth round by the Arizona Diamondbacks in the MLB 1999 draft and played from then on for the franchise in the minor leagues. In the baseball world championship in 2001 in Taipei, he was part of the U.S. national team that won the silver medal at the tournament. After Capuano won in 2007, five games in a row, followed by a bad run, the Brewers lost in 22 games in a row in which Capuano pitched. This poor performance and the second Tommy John Surgery of his career meant that long Capuano got no place in the Major League team the Brewers.

Capuano had to wait until June 2010 until he was allowed to start again in the MLB in the Minor Leagues after the renewed period. On July 3, 2010, he could finish his time with the Brewers with a win against the Florida Marlins, having previously lost 26 games in a row.

New York Mets

For the 2011 season Capuano signed a contract for one season with the New York Mets, who assure him a fixed salary of 1.5 million U.S. dollars.
