Chris Harrington (ice hockey)

Chris Harrington ( born May 7, 1982 in St. Cloud, Minnesota ) is an American professional ice hockey player who plays for the Eagles Ōji from the Asia League Ice Hockey since 2010. Chris Harrington's father, John Harrington, is also a former hockey player who could win the 1980 Olympic gold medal in the so-called Miracle on Ice.

Playing career

Harrington began his hockey career in 2000 in the U.S. Junior League United States Hockey League with the Omaha Lancers. After a good season, the 1,80 m tall defender was able to increase in its second year and got in the summer of 2002, a scholarship to the University of Minnesota, where he henceforth in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association, a league game in the operation of the National Collegiate Athletic Association played.

There, too, knew the then 20 -year-old to convince and moved to 2006/ 07 in the American Hockey League with the Toronto Marlies, the farm team of the Toronto Maple Leafs. After he ultimately could only make little hope for a place in the squad of the Maple Leafs to Harrington forced a move to Europe. Subsequently, the Americans agreed with the Ōji Eagles from the Asia League Ice Hockey on a contractual relationship.
