Chris Porter (ice hockey)

Chris Porter (born 29 MAY 1984 Toronto, Ontario, Canada ) is an American professional ice hockey player standing since 2007 with the St. Louis Blues in the National Hockey League under contract and in parallel for their farm team Chicago Wolves in the American Hockey League.

Career

Chris Porter began his career as a hockey player with the Lincoln Stars, for those in the Junior League United States Hockey League, he was active in the 2002/03 season and with whom he won the Clark Cup. Subsequently, he was selected in the ninth round in the NHL Entry Draft in 2003 as a total 282 players from the Chicago Blackhawks, for which he, however, never played. Instead, he attended from 2003 to 2007, the University of North Dakota, for their hockey team he played in parallel in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association. With his university team the winger won the 2006 WCHA Championship. On 21 August 2007, he signed a contract as a free agent with the St. Louis Blues, played in the next three years, initially mainly for their farm team in Peoria Rivermen of the American Hockey League. In the 2007 /08 season, he completed his first six games for the St. Louis Blues in the National Hockey League. Since 2010 he is a regular for the NHL team the Blues on the ice, but will also remain in the farm team for the Peoria Rivermen used.

At the beginning of the 2013/14 season he represented the injured Brenden Morrow regularly, before he returned in November 2013, Porter was released again in the AHL, to the new farm team Chicago Wolves.

Internationally

For the U.S., Porter took part in the World Cup 2011. In seven games, he prepared it in front of a gate.
