Chris Pyatt
Chris Pyatt ( born July 3, 1963 in London) is a former British professional boxer and former world champion of the WBO middleweight.
Amateur career
In the English Championships 1981 he lost the final of the welterweight Terry Marsh, who was the first undefeated boxing champion Kicked back in Europe wrote sports history later. 1982 Pyatt was English welterweight champion and won the Commonwealth Games in Brisbane.
Professional career
In March 1983, he earned his first pro fight and won 15 fights in a row, 11 of them prematurely. He punched it 12 times against opponents with a positive balance of battle. However, the title he lost in the first defense on 28 January 1987 by Point defeat to the Italian Gianfranco Rosi ( 38-2 ).
Through subsequent 11 wins, including 10 KOs against boxers such as Daniel Omar Dominguez ( 24-2 ) and Hugo Daniel Sclarandi ( 15-0 ), he received on October 23, 1990 in Leicester a world title chance WBO light middleweight against John David Jackson ( 21-0 ) from the USA. However Pyatt lost the fight on points over 12 rounds. He won it by unanimous decision against Sumbu Kalambay ( 57-5 ) and then defended the belt in September by Ko against the Argentinean Hugo Antonio Corti ( 25-3 ) and also in February 1994 by Co against Mark Cameron ( 15-3 ). On May 11, 1994, he lost the title but in his third defense prematurely to Steve Collins ( 27-3 ).
After three wins and re- gain the Commonwealth Championship light middleweight, he was defeated in July 1996 on points against Steve Foster ( 18-13 ). In May 1997, he finished his career with a points win over Maurice Forbes ( 8-1). Subsequently, he was boxing coach and owner of the Boxing Club Braunstone in Leicester.
