Christian Atsu

Christian Atsu Twasam ( born January 10, 1992 Ada ) is a Ghanaian football player at Chelsea is currently under contract but played on loan at Vitesse Arnhem.

Career

Association

At the age of 17 years Atsu moved to Portugal in the youth department of FC Porto. In the season 2010/11 he was appointed on 14 May 2011 for the game against Marítimo Funchal by then- coach Andre Villas -Boas for the first time in the professional squad. However, he was an unused substitute in the 2-0 away win.

For the 2011/12 season he was loaned together with his teammate Kelvin at the Rio Ave FC to play matches. His first try he completed the third round at home against SC Olhanense. The first hit he succeeded in the third game on Matchday at a 2:3 home defeat against Sporting Lisbon. On December 16, 2011 game against Benfica Atsu scored the opening goal for his club in the 24th minute. Nevertheless, Benfica won the match 5:1. In his last game for Rio Ave on the final day of the season Atsu met his hometown club, FC Porto. Porto at that time was already fixed as champions and won the match 5-2 in the stadium of Rio Ave. Atsu, scoring the second goal for interim 2:3.

On September 1, 2013 Atsu signed a five-year contract until June 30, 2018 at Chelsea and was awarded the same time until the end of the 2013/14 season in the Dutch Eredivisie Vitesse Arnhem on.

National

His first cap for Ghana he graduated June 1, 2012 at the qualifying match for the FIFA World Cup in 2014 against Lesotho. In domestic Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi, he came on in the 67th minute by James Kwesi Appiah and scored the fifth goal in a 7-0 defeat of Ghana.
