Christian Friedrich Nasse

Christian Friedrich Nasse ( born April 18, 1778 in Bielefeld, † April 18, 1851 in Marburg ) was a German psychiatrist.

Life

After a short business training, he began his medical studies in 1796 in Halle ( Saale). After completing his doctorate, he settled in Bielefeld as a practical physician. Later he took over the management of the local poorhouse. In 1814 he left Bielefeld in 1815 and professor of internal medicine in Halle, before 1819 a professorship at the University of Bonn followed, where he taught until his death.

He belonged to the first generation of professors of the University of Bonn and was the first German representative of vivisection. In 1818 he founded the journal of mental doctors, the yearbooks of Anthropology further published later under the title. He was strongly committed to a mental health reform and is considered the first German clinician who has exercised the bedside diagnosis and introduced in the lectures.

His grave is located at the old cemetery in Bonn. He was the grandfather of the historian Carl von Noorden. His sons, Karl Friedrich Werner Wet Wet and Otto were also physicians.
