Christian Hanson (ice hockey)

Christian Hanson ( born March 10, 1986 in Glens Falls, New York ) is an American professional ice hockey player who is since July 2011 the Washington Capitals in the National Hockey League contract. His father Dave was also a professional hockey player.

Career

Christian Hanson began his career as a hockey player with the Tri -City Storm, for which he was active from 2003 to 2005 in the Junior League United States Hockey League. In the season 2004/ 05 he received the Curt Hammer Award as Gentleman of the Year in the league. From 2005 to 2009, the Center attended the University of Notre Dame and played for their hockey team in the National Collegiate Athletic Association. With his team he won the 2007 and 2009, the championship of the Central Collegiate Hockey Association.

On 31 March 2009 Hanson signed a two -year contract with the Toronto Maple Leafs, for which he gave towards the end of the 2008/09 season his debut in the National Hockey League. By the end of the season in five games, he scored a goal and gave a presentation. In the following season the Americans played in parallel for the Maple Leafs in the NHL and for their farm team, the Toronto Marlies in the American Hockey League.

On 11 July 2011 Hanson signed a contract for one year with the Washington Capitals.

Internationally

For the U.S., Hanson participated in the 2010 World Cup in Germany. In six games, he gave an assist and was awarded two penalty minutes.
