Christian Marquand

Christian Marquand ( born March 15, 1927 in Marseille, † November 22, 2000 in Paris) was a French actor and film director.

Life and work

Marquand, was the Spanish- Arab origin, collected some experiences as a theater actor, before he received his first film roles towards the end of the Second World War. He soon became a busy semi- star who, more rarely also embodied especially lovers and adventurers villains. Several times he also acted in international and Hollywood productions such as Flight of the Phoenix, Lord Jim and Apocalypse Now. Twice Marquand tried his hand as a director, most recently with the high-level satire Candy, but he was able to achieve any particular resonance. He assumed an important role later in the speculative work the sect as leader of a Moroccan girl Merchant sect.
