Christian Nicolau

Christian Nicolau ( born February 3, 1947 in La Tronche ) is a former French athlete, who specializes in the 400 -meter run.

Career

Nicolau 1967 French champion in the 400 -meter run. At the 1968 Olympic Games in Mexico City, he took up the same distance, but already retired on the first lap. He also was a member of French 4 x 400 - meter relay that finished eighth. However, he himself came only in the qualification for the dedication and was replaced by Jean -Pierre Boccardo in the final.

The highlight of his international career he experienced at the European Athletics Championships in 1969 in Athens. In the 4 x 400 - meter relay, he celebrated together with Gilles Bertould, Jacques Carette and Jean -Claude Nallet winning the title ahead of the teams from the Soviet Union and the Federal Republic of Germany.
