Christian Wolmar

Christian Wolmar days Forter ( born August 3, 1949 in London ) is a British author, journalist and railroad historian. He is known for books and articles on transport and is considered a leading journalist on the topic of railways in the UK.

Biography

After graduating from the University of Warwick in 1971, he worked for various publications, including the magazines of Marketing and Retail Newsagent and the London local newspaper Hampstead and Highgate Express. Later he worked for the political weekly New Statesman and the short-lived newspaper London Daily News. From 1989 to 1997 he was a member of the editorial board of The Independent.
