Major ministry

John Major was the Conservative Prime Minister of the United Kingdom for the period 28 November 1990 to 2 May 1997. He was the successor of Margaret Thatcher as Prime Minister and Leader of the Conservative Party. After he had become the successor, he led his party to victory in the general election in 1992, but lost the general election of 1 May 1997 against the Labour Party, the Conservative Party received the worst electoral losses in the 20th century. Majors successor as Prime Minister was then Tony Blair, who put the first Labour government after 18 years and four lost elections.
