Christina Pluhar

Christina Pluhar (* 1965 in Graz) is an Austrian lutenist and harpist.

Life

After studying at the University of Graz, Christina Pluhar recognized her passion for old music. They devoted himself playing the lute, theorbo and baroque guitar. Your knowledge they acquired at the Conservatory of The Hague and the Schola Cantorum in Basel. Among her teachers were Toyohiko Satoh, Eugen Dombois, Hopkinson Smith, Paul O'Dette, Pat O'Brian and Jesper Christensen Bøje. The game of baroque Arpa Dopia ( Tripelharfe ) she learned at the " Schuola Civica di Milano " with Mara Galassi.

In 1992 she received as a member of the ensemble " La Fenice ", the first prize at the Festival of Early Music in Malmö. Since then she has lived in Paris in the environment of the local Baroque scene as a soloist and as a basso continuo accompanist. With her was founded in 2000 ensemble " L' Arpeggiata " she performed at international festivals and played CDs.

In addition to her activities as a performer and director Christina Pluhar Ensemble since 1999 teaches baroque harp at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague and gives master classes at the University of Graz.
