Christine Wolf

Ingrid Christine Wolf ( born March 3, 1980 in Kirchheim unter Teck, Baden- Württemberg ) is a German track and field athlete who participates in competitions for Australia since 2006.

At the age of ten years was diagnosed with cancer in her left leg. In the next five years, followed by chemotherapy and related hospitalizations. In 1995, the leg had to be amputated above the knee eventually. After visiting the 1996 Summer Paralympics in Atlanta, she started in 1997 to train with a prosthesis. In addition to running training they dealt with the discipline long jump, in which they hoped to participate in the 2000 Summer Paralympics. Since there was no competition for their classification there, she was present in Sydney, just as a spectator.

In 2004, she was able to participate for the first time in Athens at the Summer Paralympics. She won a silver medal in the long jump in the F42 classification for Germany. In Athens, Wolf met with members of the Australian team and was invited to a three -month training visit to Canberra. February 2005 they finally traveled to Australia. After a few weeks, she decided to stay permanently in Australia. 2006 Wolf first came to their new home in athletics competitions. In the Summer Paralympics in Beijing in 2008, she won gold for Australia in the long jump in the F42 classification as well as bronze in the 100 - meter race in the T42 classification.
