Christofer Johnsson

Christofer Johnsson ( born August 10, 1972 in Stockholm ) is a Swedish Metal musician and music producer. Among his most important musical influences include Richard Wagner and Slayer album Reign in Blood.

At the age of eight years Johnsson learned to play the flute; he actually wanted to play drums in public schools in Sweden, however, requires students a year to play the flute, before they get assigned a different instrument. By learning the drums he stopped after a year because he could not practice at home. With 15 years Johnsson began to play bass. In 1987, Johnsson with Peter Hansson and Oskar Forss, the metal band Blitzkrieg, which in 1988 again broke up, reformed under the name Megatherion and renamed shortly thereafter in Therion. Later he also played in the bands Carbonized (guitar, vocals), Liers in Wait ( vocals), Messiah (vocals) and formed the band Demonoid (vocals ). He is also the founder of the now defunct record label Dark Age Music.

1992 committed a 18 -year-old woman named Suuvi Mariotta Puurunen on behalf of the Norwegian musician Varg Vikernes in an arson attack on Johnsson's house; because one of the residents saw the smoke, the fire was extinguished before it came to serious damage. Vikernes sent Johnsson shortly thereafter to a death threat.

Therions performance at the ProgPower Festival 2006 in Cheltenham, which ended the two-year world tour, the band was previously Johnsson's last appearance as Therion singer. As a composer and guitarist, he is also heavily involved in Therion.
