Christopher Butler

Basil Christopher Butler OSB ( born May 7, 1902 in Reading, United Kingdom; † 21 September 1986) was Auxiliary Bishop of Westminster.

Life

Basil Christopher Butler joined the Congregation of the Benedictine and received on 10 June 1933, the sacrament of Holy Orders.

On November 29, 1966 Pope Paul VI appointed him. Titular Bishop of Nova Barbara and appointed him as Auxiliary Bishop in Westminster. The Archbishop of Westminster, Cardinal John Carmel Heenan, donated to him on 21 December of the same year, the episcopal ordination; Co-consecrators were the Bishop of Clifton, Joseph Edward Rudderham, and the apostolic delegate in the United Kingdom, Archbishop Eugenio Cardinale Igino.
