Christopher Suenson-Taylor, 3rd Baron Grantchester

Christopher John Suenson - Taylor, 3rd Baron Grantchester (born 8 April 1951) is a British peer and Labour politician.

Personal

He is the son of the 2nd Baron Grantchester and Lady Grantchester (born Betty Moore ) and went to Winchester College, where he was a member of the football team. He studied at the London School of Economics, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Economics.

Lord Grantchester married Jacqueline Jaffe 1973; they have two sons and two daughters.

Business and charity work

Littlewoods

Lord Grantchester is the grandson of John Moore the founder of the former department store chain Littlewoods. He is a former director of Littlewoods. According to a 2007 published in the Sunday Times list of richest Britons his family has a fortune of £ 1.2 billion.

Football

For years he was chairman of the football club Everton FC In a list of the football magazine FourFourTwo, he was listed on a regular basis, because it has 8% of Everton. In December 2000 he left the board of Everton. He is a trustee of the Foundation for Sport and the Arts. He is also a trustee of the David France Collection, the world's largest collection of Fußballmemorabilien.

Dairy industry

Lord Grantchester operates a dairy farm near Crewe, Cheshire. He is Chairman of the South West Cheshire Dairy Association.

He was on the board of one of the UK's largest company in the dairy industry, Dairy Farmers of Britain, serving approximately 10 % of the UK milk market.

House of Lords

In 1995 he inherited the title from his father. He took over the seat of the late Arthur Milner, 2nd Baron Milner of Leeds as one of the 92 after the entry into force of the House of Lords Act 1999 to one of the Erbpeers ( Hereditary Peers ) elected members of the House of Lords. He sits there on the banks of Labour.
