Chuck Taylor (salesman)

Charles Hollis Taylor, better known as Chuck Taylor ( * June 24, 1901 in Brown County ( Indiana), † June 23, 1969 in Port Charlotte, Florida) was an American basketball player who is still known by the basketball shoe named after him is.

After Taylor had finished high school, he played professional basketball in 1919. According to legend, in 1921, he contacted the company Converse, to make them suggestions for their shoes because his feet hurt. This resulted in a collaboration that eventually a few years later that caused Taylor's autograph and name were used on the " All- Star" shoes developed. During the Second World War, Taylor coached a military basketball team.
