Chukwuemeka Ike
Vincent Chukwuemeka Ike ( born Vincent Ike, born April 28, 1931 in Ndikelionwu, Orumba North, today Anambra State, Nigeria ) is a Nigerian writer and philologist. He became known as a writer of short stories, novellas and novels in English. In 1999 he also published the novel Anu Ebu Nwa in his native language Igbo.
Life
Ike was born as the son of Charles and Dinah M. Chinwuba Ike Ike. Chukwuemeka is Igbo and means "God has done great things ." Since 1959, he is married with Adebimpe Olurinsola Ike. They have a son and two grandchildren.
From 1937 to 1939 visited Chukwuemeka Ike Aro Settlement School in Ndikelionwu, then from 1940 to 1943, the CMS Central School in Ife Ezinihitte in today's Imo State as well as 1944, the CMS Central School in Nnewi. His acquaintance with Chinua Achebe goes back to their time together at the Government College, Umuahia, Abia State in today, the visited Chukwuemeka Ike from 1945 to 1950. He studied history and English at the University of Ibadan, which was then called University College and a College, University of London, was then at Stanford University. His studies at the University of Ibadan from 1951 to 1955, he was awarded the title of BA and the period of study at Stanford in January 1967 as MA from.
