The village Çiçekdağı is the administrative center of the homonymous district ( Ilce ) of the province Kırşehir. Çiçekdağı to German Blumenberg, located at the foot of the eponymous 1691 meter high mountain range, over which the road leads into the Kırşehir 67 km away. Çiçekdağı is located in the extreme north- east of the province, the distance from the center to the center of the neighboring village Yerköy, which is the main town in the northeast of the adjoining same administrative district of Yozgat Province, is about 6 km. In addition, the district is bordered to the north by the county Akçakent and on the south by the county Boztepe and the Central District ( Merkez ) of the province Kırşehir.

The climate is continental with cold winters and warm summers. The majority of moderate rainfall falls in the spring.

The economy of the district is based on agriculture. On special crops sugar beets are worth mentioning. In mineral resources, there are deposits of lignite and fluorite.

History

The county is apart from the central county of the oldest in the province Kırşehir. Çiçekdağı was first mentioned in 1845 under the name Boyalık Koyu. 1855 under the name mecidiye (in honor of the then reigning Sultan Abdülmecid ) center of the across Nahiye, which was administratively attached to Yozgat. Yozgat was at that time under the name Bozok chief town of a sanjak and in several changes with Ankara until the establishment of the Ankara Vilayet 1867 capital of Ankara Eyalet or Bozok. Sultan Abdulaziz raised the Nahiye to Kaza. After the center of the circle 1910-1912 had been moved to the village Kırdök, was moved to Mucur in the first year of the First World War by Enver Pasha, the center temporarily. At the urging of the residents of the county mecidiye was restored. According to the information on the website of the municipality of the county was dissolved in 1924 by Yozgat and slammed the province Kırşehir. However, in 1912 mecidiye is mentioned as Kaza of Sanjak Kırşehir already for the year. In 1930, received district and village its present name.

With the dissolution of the Province Kırşehir 1954, the district came to the province of Yozgat and after the re- establishment of the Province Kırşehir 1957 back to this.
