History

Cinven was founded in 1977. The company has offices in London, Paris, Frankfurt and Milan. Cinven focuses on the acquisition and sale of European corporate investments.

Cinven was originally from the UK pension fund of British Coal, Railway Industries and Barclays Bank, which are important partners of the company have remained.

  • Klöckner Pentaplast, 2001 together with JP Morgan acquired and sold to the Blackstone Group in 2007.
  • Sold CBR Holding GmbH, acquired together with Apax Partners 2004 2007 to EQT
  • Springer Science Business Media, acquired alongside Candover 2003 and 2009 also sold to EQT
  • Jost -Werke, 2008 purchased from Alpha Investors
  • Acquired CeramTec Group, 2013
  • Heidelberger purchased life insurance, 2013
